The Federal Government’s Shut Down Affects the Use of the SNAMP Fisher Team’s Plane
The Forest Service plane used for aerial telemetry flights by the SNAMP fisher project has been grounded due to the federal government’s shut down since October 2nd 2013. There will be no location data gathered on collared fisher until the plane is free to fly again. There are still three crew members working with Gary Roller, the project manager, to keep the project running on the ground. Crews are listening for animals from roads to detect any mortality signals but none have been found so far. Thank you for your continued interest and we will update you as the situation changes.
