Sep 6 2008 - Fire & Forest Ecosystem Health Team Field Meeting
The Sierra Nevada Adaptive Management Project (SNAMP) hosted a day in the field with the University of California Fire and Forest Ecosystem Health Team near Auburn, California on Saturday, September 6th, 2008.
The field trip included presentations on the current forest inventory work being done on the Tahoe National Forest to understand the effects of US Forest Service thinning treatments to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfires. Desired outcomes of this field trip were to provide an opportunity for on the ground involvement with the Fire and Forest Ecosystem Health Science Team and an opportunity for the public to participate in data collection.
