The Sierra Nevada Adaptive Management Project (SNAMP) and the USFS American River Ranger District sponsored a field trip out to the Sugar Pine study site to view the implementation on September 19, 2012.

Dr. Scott Stephens, co-leader of the UC Fire and Forest Health research team from UC Berkeley was present to answer questions about his team's research on the project which has included looking at the effectiveness of these fuels treatments in reducing fire risk through extensive computer modeling efforts.
