Nov 13 2014 - Final Workshop: Tools for Successful Collaboration

Nov 13 2014

Building on a collaboration workshop series held in Spring/Summer 2014, the objective of this workshop was to help improve communication by building facilitation skills with those involved in collaborative projects. We worked to build a common language to support collaboration, shared tools to prevent problems, and demonstrated interventions to support success when problems arise through mutual learning and discussion. UC Cooperative Extension has developed training modules for all stakeholders interested in developing these skills. These are available for a free download here.

This workshop focused on detailed discussion of participants’ real life experiences with collaborative efforts. It included practice and discussion of the most appropriate facilitation tools to improve challenging moments. The workshop's guest speaker was Jim Nelson, Retired from Ca. Fish and Wildlife and founder of Nelson Facilitation.
